Zorro is a beautiful black and white, brown-eyed boy who came to me from Rys N Hy Siberians in Princeton, MO. He is out of "Sonar" (AKC Ptd/ RBIS MBPIS MRBPIS UKC GCH/ IABCA IntCH/ APRI CH Rys N Hy Sophisticated Sounds VHMP VHMA CGC TKN ETD SSH SOR TD-ROM CCF3 2K9 T3 BR3K-23) and "Lilith" (UKC CH/ APRI CH Rys N Hy Rebellious Archetype VHMP VHMA CGC TKN NTD SSH SOR 2K9 T3). He is a smooth, effortless mover with balanced angles front and rear, and he has a lovely head and ear set with beautiful dark almond-shaped eyes.
This boy has one of the most interesting personalities of any of the dogs I've owned. He is curious and adventurous, but also very reserved with strangers until he spends some time with them. He is sweet and affectionate, very enthusiastic about play, running, and chasing. He is a very quick learner and loves to please, but like any Siberian he also has a stubborn streak when he wants to, enjoys digging holes and splashing in mud, and has a high prey drive, especially toward cats. He is also the "softest" of all of my Siberians; he doesn't respond well to any kind of harsh correction, is sensitive to changes in routine, and is not the most comfortable in crowded areas with lots of strange people or dogs. These are things we are continuing to work on and improve together; however, because of this "soft" temperament, I will be careful to be sure any breeding partners for him have more confident, outgoing personalities to help balance his out a bit more.
Zorro started his performance career with a bang, earning his first 2 titles by 10 weeks of age and accumulating 13 performance titles by 20 weeks of age. He also took to conformation with ease as a pup, winning a Beginner Puppy Group 1st his very first time in the AKC ring and 2 UKC BPIS in a 4-show weekend. Conformation showing is not his favorite activity, but we're making steady progress on building his confidence in the ring. In the meantime we're also working toward several trick and performance titles; so far he is doing well, and loving the challenge!
In addition to many lovely dogs bred or owned by Rys N Hy, Zorro's pedigree goes back to a handful of other dogs and kennels who I greatly admire; I am happy and grateful to have the opportunity to incorporate all of those lines into the foundation of my own. Thank you again to his breeder/co-owner Alicia Rys for entrusting him to me!
