Prices & Expectations
*Disclaimer* Kodivaro Siberians reserves the right to the first pick(s) from each litter born here. Any remaining pups will be placed into loving pet, show, and performance homes after my picks have been made. Please keep in mind that as these dogs' breeder I reserve the right to refuse a sale to anyone at any time.
Pricing
My pups are sold for $2,500, which includes the $500 deposit outlined below.
This price reflects the cost it takes to give these parents and puppies the best possible start before going home with their new family, including food, vitamins, vaccinations, regular veterinary care, and continued health testing on my pups' parents throughout their lives.
It reflects the costs associated with registering, training, traveling, and titling my dogs in all kinds of different sports and venues, from conformation shows and Lure Coursing trials to Trick Dog and Barn Hunt titles. This is done in order to prove they adhere as closely as possible to their breed standard and have the correct temperament to make a great family pet. A Greyhound should be athletic, biddable, confident, and adaptable, and the best way to test that is to let them try all kinds of activities in a variety of environments.
It reflects the costs of breeding, whelping, and raising a litter of puppies. Just some of the items on this list include:
* stud fee (if using an outside stud)
* travel to and from stud's location and boarding (or shipment and veterinary A.I. if using frozen semen)
* breed-specific health testing (genetic screens, OFA exams)
* pre-breeding checkup, and brucellosis test
* prenatal-specific vitamins, food, and supplements
* bloodwork and/or ultrasound to confirm pregnancy
* x-rays to determine litter size prior to delivery
* whelping box, blankets, pads, and other supplies needed for delivery
* emergency vet fees and possible C-section if there are complications
* puppy food (these little guys eat much more than you would think!)
* vaccines and vet check-ups for the whole litter
* microchips for all pups
* AKC registration of the litter
* puppy starter kits (outlined in more detail below)
* time off from my job to spend hours and hours feeding, cleaning, socializing, and loving on every one of the babies
* money which I set aside for future semen collection, analysis, and storage on male pups placed in co-ownerships, as well as the pre-collection genetic and OFA testing to be paid at my expense for those males
Finally, it reflects all of the countless hours I've spent preparing for each litter: researching pedigrees, planning breedings, calculating COIs, analyzing health test results, consulting with other breeders to ensure I know as much as possible about every dog in the pups' family tree, reviewing puppy applications, and interviewing potential homes. I plan for each litter long before any pups are ever conceived; each and every breeding is done with the goal of producing a dog who is physically and mentally sound and embodies everything a Greyhound should be.
By the time the litter is weaned, these can all add up to thousands of dollars. But this is a labor of love, and every cent is worth it to give these pups and their parents the very best start that I can. My dogs are my life; I want the best for them whether they're here for 8 weeks or 15 years.

Show/Sport/Breeding Rights
The price is the same for both pet and show/sport prospect pups (I don't charge more for a pup that is going to a show or sport home, as the cost to produce and raise that puppy was the same as for all of its littermates). However, these pups are on a different contract so I can take some added precautions to keep my dogs out of irresponsible breeders' hands.
I begin evaluating my pups for structure, temperament, and movement starting as soon as they are born and may not finalize my decision to keep or place a pup until 8+ weeks of age. I reserve the right to first pick(s) of the litter. All other pups will be placed after I have chosen which, if any, to keep back for my breeding program. I will keep any prospective show/sport puppy owners updated during this process, and if the pup you were hoping for is my keeper and you don't want any other pup in the litter, I can roll your deposit to another litter.

Deposits/Adoption Process
The deposit to reserve a puppy is $500 and goes toward the final purchase price of the pup. I don't ask for deposits prior to whelping, as I won't know for sure how many pups there are or their sexes until after birth. Instead, the deposit must be paid within 14 days after the pups are born and notifications are sent to those on the waiting list. Anyone on the waiting list who fails to pay the deposit within 14 days will lose their spot on the list, and that slot will be offered to the next person waiting for a pup.
This deposit is non-refundable - NO EXCEPTIONS! Bringing a new puppy into your life is a serious commitment, and should never be entered into lightly. Deposits help me prevent people making an "impulse purchase." If it turns out that there is not a pup available from the current litter, you will keep your current spot on the waiting list for when the next litter is born.
I will keep all deposit holders updated as the pups grow, so check back often. Once pups are born, pictures and videos will be posted frequently on this website and the Kodivaro Siberians Facebook page. I will also email all of the baby pictures I've taken of your new puppy to you after they go home.
All pups will go to their new homes with a puppy starter kit. The kit includes:
* Puppy's AKC registration papers
* Puppy's microchip registration papers
* Puppy's health/vaccination record
* Copy of written health guarantee
* Signed copy of the adoption contract
* Copies of parents' AKC and NGA registration papers
* Copies of any health tests results for pup's parents
* 5-generation pedigree
* Bag of puppy's current food with feeding instructions
* Small blanket with mother's scent on it
* Collar and leash
* Food and water bowls
* Grooming brush
* Nail clippers
* Poo Bags
* Toys (soft plush toy, firm chew toy, puzzle ball toy, and a puppy-sized Kong)
* The Complete Guide To Greyhounds by Tarah Schwartz
* Dog Training 101 by Kyra Sundance
If you are curious about something, don't hesitate to ask me! I am here as a resource for the life of every dog born at Kodivaro, for both the good and the bad. I will do my best to help answer any questions you may have, and if I don't have an answer I'll surely know another breeder who can help us figure it out.
