(All tests marked with " * " are required in order to receive a CHIC number through OFA.)
Notes:
* Genetic coefficient of inbreeding (COI) of 43% through Embark. This is much higher than the breed average for Greyhounds, and for purebred dogs in general. Outcrossing should be used to reduce this in future generations.
* Homozygous (2 copies) for gene mutation that causes Bald Thigh Syndrome (BTS). Began showing hair thinning at 7 months old, now has symmetrical hair loss on inner thighs and belly, as well as one small patch on each lower thigh.
* Heterozygous (1 copy) for gene mutation that causes Accumulating Copper Toxicity (ACT). Will be a carrier but not likely to be affected by the condition; should be bred only to Clear dogs to avoid producing affected pups.
* Heterozygous (1 copy) for gene mutation that causes Delayed Postoperative Hemorrhaging (DEPOH). Unlikely to be affected by the condition; should be bred only to Clear dogs to avoid producing affected pups.
* Abnormal T4 (thyroid) hormone levels recorded on 2/4/2025 during routine screening. Normal range is 1.0 - 4.0, and Dutch read below 0.5. Diagnosed with idiopathic hypothyroidism (asymptomatic).
* Coat color genetics: EE (no mask or grizzle); KBKy (solid-colored or brindle coat); DD (no dilution, cannot produce blue); Bb (black coat color, carries 1 copy of red and can produce red/brown coat in pups); NN (no "cocoa" gene, no dun coloring and cannot produce dun pups); Ssp (solid w/small amounts of white, can produce both solid and particolored pups).

Genetic Testing Results:
August 3, 2024 - A sample of Dutch's Embark results are displayed below, including genetic health results, chromosomal inbreeding graph, and coat color/traits. (Genetic health conditions which are not found in Greyhounds have been crossed out in order to make reading through the list easier.)

December 11, 2024 - Results for the Delayed Postoperative Hemorrhaging (DEPOHGEN) test through Washington State University. Dutch is a carrier (1 copy of the gene) so can produce puppies who are clear, carrier, or affected.
December 17, 2024 - Results for the X-Linked Progressive Retinal Atrophy (XL-PRA) test through UC Davis Veterinary Genetics Lab. Dutch's results were xN/y (he is male, so only has one "X" chromosome), meaning he is Normal/Clear.
December 23, 2024 - Results for the Greyhound Polyneuropathy (NDRG1 mutation) test through Paw Print Genetics. Dutch tested Normal/Clear, meaning he will never be affected by this condition and can never produce Affected pups.
December 27, 2024 - OFA certificate for the CHIC DNA Repository. Dutch's DNA has been submitted and can now be used for research into Greyhound (and general canine) genetics.
Health Screening Results:
February 4, 2025 - Dutch went to the vet for some of his OFA screenings today (dentition, heart, patella, and thyroid.) Everything was normal/clear except for his thyroid, which read far below normal. He has been tentatively diagnosed with idiopathic (asymptomatic, cause unknown) hypothyroidism, and will have his levels re-checked after a few weeks on medication to see if there is any difference.
