News/Updates at Kodivaro Siberians!
December 31, 2019 - Time for a New Year's wrap-up! 2019 has been an absolutely amazing year (and an amazing end to a decade, too). There have been a lot of changes here, from deciding on and finalizing the kennel's name, making the decision to move to a new location in May 2020, and of course, bringing #ShivaTheDiva into the pack.
While we showed in conformation very little in 2019, I am extremely proud of all we managed to accomplish in the shows we did attend, as well as the performance titles and milestones earned closer to home.
Shiva was shown in AKC and UKC as a baby puppy and received a Puppy Group 1 in AKC and 3 Puppy BOB in UKC (UKC does not offer puppy groups, the breed winners go straight to BIS). She also finished her IABCA International, National, and Honors Baby championships on the day she turned 6 months old, ending the weekend with 5 SG-1 ratings (the highest a puppy can receive), 4 Puppy Group 1s, 1 Reserve Best Puppy In Show, 1 Reserve BBE Best Puppy In Show, and a Best BBE Puppy In Show.
Our last show of the year was the OAEDC UKC Show in Norman, OK. I brought Shiva and Kodi (this was his only conformation show this year), and they did very well. Shiva earned 4 BOB, 1 GRP2, 1 GRP3, and 2 GRP4, as well as 60/100 points toward her UKC Championship. Kodi earned 4 Altered BOB, 4 Altered GRP1, 3 ARBIS, and 1 ABIS!
In just the 4 months between his arrival home from MN in July and the end of November, Kodi also earned 7 new performance titles, bringing his lifetime titles to 28.
Shiva, who is proving to be the smartest and most enthusiastic dog I have ever trained, earned *14* titles (3 in conformation, 11 in performance) between her arrival here at 8 weeks old on February 4th and the end of December at just 12 months of age.
Most excitingly, both Kodi and Shiva became pioneers in the breed for Ninja/Parkour performance titles. Together they were the 3rd and 4th Siberians worldwide to earn the ICN and DPUK-BEFL1 titles, and the first 2 Siberians worldwide to earn the PKD-T, IMN, DPUK-NEFL1, DPUK-UEFL1, and DPUK-EXFL1 titles. Kodi got bored with playing ninja at the end of November so Shiva continued without him, and became the first and to date *only* Siberian Husky worldwide to earn the ICN2, IUN, and DPUK-BEFL2 titles.
We've had so many new and fun experiences this year, and I while I am proud of myself for the progress I've made in training and handling, my greatest pride is in these two awesome dogs who are always ready for adventure and willing to work beside me whenever I ask it of them. They are the best thing that has ever happened to me, and I can't wait to see what 2020 holds for us.
Happy New Year, everyone - bright blessings and wishes for a great start to the decade!

April 28, 2019 - Shiva and I had a wonderful time at our first UKC show together, hosted by the Oklahoma American Eskimo Dog Club (OAEDC) in Norman, OK. Shiva won 3 Baby Puppy Bests of Breed (UKC does not do puppy groups) and got to compete in the BPIS ring three times. She behaved like an angel, which is always a relief with a puppy, and showed herself like she owned the place. I am so proud of her!
April 21, 2019 - This past weekend was the Northwest Arkansas Kennel Club (NWAKC) show in Fayetteville, AR. "Shiva," aka Echoing Wind Kodiak Stand By Me, was entered in her first ever show and she made her entrance in style, taking Baby Puppy Best of Breed and Working Group 1st under Judge Mrs. Anne Katona! She also received some wonderful compliments from both Mrs. Katona and BPIS Judge Mrs. Linda Clark, who loved her gorgeous front and effortless movement. I am so proud of this little girl, and I cannot wait to take her into the ring again. #ShivaTheDiva is off to big things!
February 9, 2019 - A new addition has joined the family today. Echoing Wind Kodiak Stand By Me, aka "Shiva," was co-bred by Robin Malchow, Charity Reger, and myself. She is absolutely stunning, and so confident that she is already affectionately known as "Shiva the Diva." I cannot wait to see what the future holds for us, and I cannot wait until she is old enough to show!
